KB Home in the Inland Empire

KB Home has communities in Menifee, Ontario and Fontana among the ones I track. Its community pages list prices “plus cost of solar,” so understanding KB Home’s solar arrangement matters as much as the base price.

Solar: Read the Disclosure

KB Home’s pages say California requires solar panels on new homes, and that they aren’t included in the posted price. They can be leased for a monthly payment or purchased for an additional cost. KB Home’s Ontario page estimated a lease at about $65 to $86 a month and a financed purchase at about $62 to $70 a month (as published September 2026).

KB Home’s general solar disclosure describes an arrangement where the buyer is responsible for the system’s operation and maintenance, and where a solar lease has to be transferred to the next buyer or bought out when you sell. It also refers to a 25-year limited warranty from the solar supplier. The arrangement may differ by community, so ask for the solar disclosure for the specific community and read it before you sign. The key questions: is the system purchased or leased, what’s the monthly or upfront cost, and what happens at resale?

Warranty

KB Home says most of its homes include:

  • 1 year for workmanship and materials,
  • 2 years for plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems,
  • 10 years for structural components.

Coverage can vary by state. KB Home says each division has a warranty department. It takes service requests online, has an emergency phone line, and says it typically responds to non-emergency calls the next day.

Personalization and the Design Studio

KB Home’s communities here offer personalized homes, delivered in about four to six months, alongside move-in-ready homes. Inland Empire buyers choose finishes at KB Home’s Rancho Cucamonga Design Studio, 12499 Victoria Gardens Ln., Ste. 105, where you select flooring, countertops, cabinets and appliances. Ask for the community’s standard-features list before your studio appointment, so you know what’s included and what’s an upgrade.

If You Want Your Own Agent

KB Home publishes specific broker rules. Among them: your agent must follow KB Home’s broker registration and commission agreement, come with you on your first visit, confirm on that visit that you already have a written buyer-broker agreement, and share its commission details. Other contract-timing conditions apply. The practical takeaway: sign with your agent before you tour a KB Home model. If you’d like me to represent you, call me first.
